Countdown till World's Country Championship

Competitive Country Dancing

United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC) is an organization that promotes Country-western dance, worldwide, both as art form and as a competitive sport.

Each year they host several dance competitions throughout what is know as a season. Each season beings in the Spring and leads up to a prestigious Championship in the Winter known as WORLDS. Students and professionals of all levels work throughout the year/season to achieve eligibility to partake in this challenging event.

Country music’s diversity naturally calls for a wide variety of dance styles. Pulling from the foundations, established by Ballroom Dance Organizations, the fun and welcoming atmosphere of the UCWDC proudly recognizes Waltz, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Progressive Two Step, Nightclub Two Step, Triple Two Step and Polka as their forms of dance sport.

There is something for everyone and you’ll find people of all ages and abilities all over the world who participate socially or competitively in country western dance
